CONTRASTERS CREW REVIEW Ideal school (Nacho, Roxane, Pablo) By Marta Alonso

Contrasters Crew  ( Pablo, Nacho, Roxane) has finally made a wonderful project although they had problems with sending the material to create the video and presenting on time. It also clear that they had less time than other groups but they finally show very interesting ideas about their ideal school. All the theory was explained in a very easy way although it were they three just talking. Subtitle helped a lot in this process. The information given was accurate and interesting inside each point although there were some facts that were repeated during the video. The 3D design of the physical school was so nice and also the great explanation of each place inside the building that was pretty long part in the video. They gave very good facts in the context part and tried to explain the possible solution for their restrictions. One of the best ideas was the use of Self Review Framework to compare and assess the school with other taking about ICT.  Technology is also include in the school and in the video they talked internet safety and they use they would give to different apps for students with special necessities and also to prevent and solve bullying. Inside all the ideas they mention there are some quotes of authors like Piaget and they really gave lot of importance to methodologies as the inclusive education and other point that had surprised me was the idea of trying to avoid competition in schools. They explain all the leadership point so well including some information they looked for and explain how the participation of the families would be: parents, students and teachers would form a triangle where they would be always in connexion. A negative point to improve would be including more content of other subjects and also the video needs a bit of originality but counting with the little time they had, other parts such as the content and facilities to understand it are finally achieved.

TRAVELCHERS REVIEW Ideal school (Marta Alonso)

This group has have a great challenge in relation with one of their components Vinny  who could not understand Spanish and in some cases that the group wanted to express something they needed to speak all in English although  it was more difficult that doing it in Spanish. A part from that point that finally the managed it very well, there were some objectives that were not achieved as they explained in their own presentation before the video. I really liked the beginning of the video and the mix of voices at the time of explaining the theory in the video. The content of Travelcher’s video was absolutely the most completed and innovative due to the multiple ideas they collect about different articles and webs. It was shown that they made a huge effort looking for new ideas and a way to include them in their ideal school. Although they mention lots of projects, methodologies and more data, they also talked about learning communities as most of the rest of groups. Their part of context was so complete with all the facts and figures they gave. Overall a point to highlight is the originality of the video made with hand-made dolls and a class made of paper. It was a hard work to do it and also to record it.  As some ideas that I really liked  I  would mention multiple intelligences and all the ways they said they  would use ICT in the school. They also gave lot of importance to sensitive learning and projects like Corners.  I point to improve I can mention is that the video was very long so there were time where it was easy to get lost and not getting the ideas well.

REVIEW IDEAL SCHOOL CONTRASTERS CREW (By Ana Rallo)

First of all, I would like to start by congratulating the group. Both parts of the previus group have passed through huge challenges because of working against time due to the separation, but we all were able to overcome it and do a great job.

About the content, they explain really well theoretical definitions with their own words and about context they gave many facts and graphics showing all they were talking about.

They gave a lot of importance to the self-review framework and explain it really good as well as the importance of ICTs. They didn't forgive speaking about special needs or some dissabilities that their students could have and how they could overcome them with projects as the "AZAHAR" one.

The localisation of the school is well explained, as well as the inclive school's program and the importance of the families inside of the school. They mention values as learning from each other and highlighted the importance of ensuring a great relation between students providing a good class environment which rises the productivity of the children.

One of the stronger points of the presentation was their "speech" about bullying, where they gave many data, definition, facts, importance and how to deal and erradicate it.

About the physical structure, their building is U-shaped, just one floor well equiped of technological devices with a natural climate and where every cycle is connected. They included and orchard for gardening and raising vegetables and the instalation of polyvalent rooms as the gym where big meetings would be held.

Good work!

FERNWEH REVIEW Ideal school ( Marta Alonso)

Fernweh showed us that their group work has improved a lot and as they said: they have also noticed their group spirit has increased during this project due to the great amount of tasks and the necessity of collaboration between all the members. Each one has accomplished their roles. One of the best ideas was the 3D perspective of the building that they created in a informatics program. This gave us a great view of how was the building built and where it was each space. Inside the theoretical part is important to mention the ideas in relation with context where they talk about economic aspects and how they would start being a private school and then public. They also highlight the importance of the creation of education communities. Talking about methodologies they used cooperative learning and projects made in class. They have known how to mix content of the three subjects in a fantastic way. Including emotions and multiple intelligences for example from psychology of education and some other methodologies such as the inclusive education in which they pointed out the importance of giving the same opportunities for everyone. They also mentioned the active an experiential learning and the education based in value to solve conflicts. They bet on freedom for students and a reciprocal way of learning- teaching, from teacher to student and the other way around. One of the best points they explained were the one about ICT where they told us that BQ was the company which provided them all technological devices. Point to improve would be changing the voice which sounded in the video because was always the same tone and it made get a bit tired and also it would be necessary to make some references to certain authors of theories because they didn’t mentioned any. I enjoyed a lot with the funny part of the bibliography and I recognise that subtitles made the understanding easier.

REVIEW IDEAL SCHOOL TRAVELCHERS (By Ana Rallo)

I will be really concrete with this project, I think it was really well done and greatly completed so I will just mention some points I want to highlight.

  • Their introduction of the location of the school was really well done and creative, as well as the explanation they previously gave about why did they choose that location, many facts really well searched.
  • Their video started really good because it was new to show the model while talking and the part with the toys but in the end it felt a bit monotonous, although I appreciate their effort on making something different.
  • Really good idea of not having subjects but having "stations" and really well explained.
  • Perfect ICT's use, a bit confusing because they were in every minute of the video but they get really good explained.
  • The explanation of how multiple intelligences are going to be developed or how they will take advantage of them is really well explained.
  • Really clear class organization in a U shaped way for face to face debates or other active activities as well as the Godfather program.
CONGRATULATIONS!

REVIEW IDEAL SCHOOL FERNWEH (By Ana Rallo)

Fernweh did a great job. We are able to notice that they have improved hugely since the beginning of the subject. At first, we could see a difference on the amount of work and even some "problems" between them. In this project they've overcome this differences and they have taken advantage of the strong points of each member of the group.

They started with an innovative idea of showing us the school. They made a 3D virtual design where we could see in detail everything, even the name SINERGIA. We could find all the details and facilities that were established inside their school. Apart from all the things used for the scholar timetable, they included some spaces for renting them for maybe parties or different social meetings.

Speaking about the inside work, they decided to deal with cooperative work in which nature can be used for relaxation and serenity. The importance they gave to families is really huge, they need to be involved. Their ideal way of learning is based on the social constructivism and on learning by projects.

They mention the difficultness of being since the beginning a public school, so that they opt to start as concert and thanks to some projects and little by little, achieve the idea of a public school.

Emotional intelligences should have a huge importance on learning and this importance has been gaved from SINERGIA's school. Their other ideas as education based on values, having a creative education or using ICT's in every situation where well explained.

I would like to congratulate this team! And my favourite idea, the one of working with Bq projects of "do it yourself" and "do it with others" using them as providers. WELL DONE!!!

IDEAL SCHOOL GUIDE

CONTEXT:
We want to create a center prepared for the new model of education established in the 21st century which implies a transformation in the methodologies and training of teachers in relation to the new proposals of materials for the classroom, therefore, we will combat violence in our society. Violence is present in our society and we want to bet on the struggle that eradicates it or at least fight against it. It is necessary to raise awareness among students through the use of games and other kinds of activities such as group dynamics to sensitize students while being trained in values. The superior courses will be in charge of giving support or explanation to the children to help them with their own experience. We will encourage non-violence and tolerance of differences, since we are all different and in our own way, but we are in the same school. The topics of violence will be discussed in daily assemblies with teachers and each end of the quarter will be held covenants involving the whole school in which the higher courses will be mixed with the inferior and help and support the dynamics.

"Ten percent of fifth and sixth grade students suffer psychological abuse" (Gutiérrez J. M.). In these generations, bullying can begin with isolation, insults or intimidating messages through the new technologies that surround children today. In order to prevent such events and prevent them from passing through physical abuse in our educational center we will encourage the inclusion of the use of applications that can improve the coexistence of the educational community. We will use the Bullying Semaphore application (created by Fundación en Movimiento) with the aim of conducting a questionnaire to find out if a child is being bullied and to remedy this situation. From our education center we want to avoid that in the higher courses they begin to give this type of violent actions and to prevent them from earlier ages for that reason our center has as main objective the creation of a community in which the parents, Teachers and students are equally involved in school life. This, together with the promotion of self-esteem and teamwork by students and teachers, would reduce it considerably. As another measure to take, we will form at the beginning of the course, a group of student assistants to observe and control potential conflicts and inform teachers to treat them among the students themselves.

The dynamics that we will use for the work of emotions and values, will bring together students from different courses to help each other in reading and understanding using for example the collection of stories "I am value / I am emotion" by the author Begoña Ibarrola, a psychologist and expert in Multiple intelligences and emotions. In the case of the smaller ones, the material that we will use is called Emotiblocks that will help them to treat and to know their first emotions through manipulation and observation. They will carry out these activities in the corresponding assemblies with their teachers.

LEARNING MODELS:

We are committed to an inclusive model in which we will form an educational community with our motto "Somos Unión". All its members (students, teachers, parents and non-teaching educators share, integrate and enrich from the complementarity ofthe same education project). Participation will guide the achievement of educational objectives. The contribution of each member promotes personal growth and common enrichment. We want to avoid that our learning is based on content out of context so our children will acquire the necessary skills that will help them for their day-to-day and future. Knowledge is about actively engaging in the world  so our children are agents of change. We will promote teamwork with the aim of creating our own community so that they learn to coexist with the members of the community as they live in society. Wenger L., 1991)  "Learning is one aspect of changes in participation in different communities of practice wherever people engage for periods of time doing things in which their ongoing activities are interdependent, learning is part of their changing involvement in practices Changing ") Communities of practice are everywhere: families, companies ... that is why our students will create their first community of practice in which they will collaborate in such a way that they feel part of it (Wenger E., 2014) Returning to our inclusive education, we will work for projects in cooperative groups in each subject in which each student will have strengths and weaknesses to contribute to the team, in this way we achieve a great complementation. The tutors  will decide role each child should manage and throughout the courses they will discover autonomously, which is the role with which he feels more identified and is more closely linked to his personality.

Work well in small groups, improve peer relationships, and integration  in the classroom. The members of the group will rotate to help and get to know each other. Regarding the evaluation method implemented for these projects, it will be a self-assessment, a co-evaluation and an evaluation by the teacher. We trust that the teaching method must vary, so we are committed to the motto of "learning by doing" that we will see reflected by activities such as outdoor classes on the mountain or field closest to the school. In a natural space our mind becomes more creative and thanks to nature, we learn to discern between the superfluous and the necessary. The nature and environment, power our intuition and space capacity, since looking for visual points of reference, we will know more. Finally, to emphasize that nature educates us in patience and effort as we will use the books "Monterapia" and "Slow Mountain" (Garbizu, Mountain of life, 2017). We also support solidarity and therefore we propose projects such as the ecological orchard. It final objective will be to donate crops to associations that need it. There are three fundamental pillars in which we will focus to carry out the project and they are the sensitization, donation and diffusion. We will closely follow Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences in our school. The theory reformulates the concept of intellectual capacity since this is multiple and not only exist the mathematical or linguistic ability measured in the intelligence tests. There is also physical, emotional, interpersonal, visual-spatial, naturalistic or musical ability. These skills are also part of the intelligence. According to Gardner, all people possess them to a greater or lesser degree. Recognizing these intelligences and working on them serves to give more opportunities to the students and thus develop their talent  and to grow in an integral way. Our center wants to eradicate the classic vision of intelligence in talented people in areas of logic and language, and to emphasize the new intelligences that allow students to become global people capable of facing new challenges and proposing alternatives. It is an active pedagogy with great student participation and the improvement plans for each student also help it (Gutiérrez M., 2013).
In relation to multiple intelligences, we will develop a method of teaching that is based on surprise. Avoiding  routine is so important.  The surprise causes an improvement in learning that improves the ability to remember. The memory can be worked mainly by breaking the routine or even by music, as it helps us to wake up and activate multiple regions of the brain (Ballarini, 2017)

METHODOLOGY AND PROJECTS:
Our inclusive school will use cooperative learning in the classroom as a main methodology with the aim of students learning how to work together among all of them. For getting this, we will use a layout of the classroom so that the tables will be joined four by four in the form of a square for a better communication among the four members that will form the groups. Students should observed at all times  the teacher from their tables. The groups will be chosen by the teacher in a heterogeneous way and this will be who chooses the roles of students. In higher courses, students will be able to identify which role is most appropriate for their group skills and effectiveness. Each subject will work with projects, which will be evaluated from three perspectives: that of the teacher, that of the students towards the other groups (co-evaluation) and that of the student (self-assessment) that will encourage critical reflection about their work. This way the teacher is not the only one who teaches, we all learn from everyone. In addition to the projects, there will be written tests to evaluate the knowledge of the content individually. We believe each student is different and each of them will have a different way of learning using a constructivist model in which the teacher will be responsible for delivering the necessary tools to the student and will be the same actively to build their own procedures to solve Problems or find solutions. Through the laboratories they will obtain new information and will be able to investigate and discover for themselves in subjects such as Technology or  Natural Sciences ... They will be able to interact with the environment thanks to the projects that we will explain that are in the educational offer of the centre.

We want to establish a series of projects in which cooperation will be very present, and for which an active participation by all members of the community will be essential. As Piaget said "When you teach a child something, you take away forever the opportunity to discover it for their self." piaget
In our school we will promote creative writing and theatre that are in harmony with musical creation, audio-visual or kitchen and orchard projects.
In the first place, we have made the proposal and creation of an ecological orchard in which the students will participate once a week. It will be three spaces with different crops that will rotate of responsible group as the quarters change. The groups will be pre-school, odd  courses (first, third and fifth of primary) and pairs  courses (second, fourth and sixth of primary). The operation is about cultivating vegetables that we will later donate to associations. That needs to raise awareness of the importance of solidarity. In the daily assembly time, one day a week will be dedicated to the garden; Mondays for pre-school, Wednesdays for the pairs  and  Fridays for the odds.
Secondly, we propose the option of cooking in which we will use the products that can be provided by the orchard and which will not be donated. This second project, called "Science Chunks", students will learn aspects of cooking in our dining kitchen facilities. While half of the cooking class, others will investigate the historical and geographical origin of food used (Social Science) or nutritional properties (Natural Science) adapted to the level of each class. When finished the students themselves will be in charge of collecting and cleaning all the utensils used during the kitchen. The cooked food will be used for special festivities at the school (Trimester End )This project will be directed to fifth and sixth grade of  primary.
Thirdly, we give great importance to the art and the integral development of all the students' capacities so that we will work with the raw material: their emotions. We believe that art is the means par excellence for an individual to be able to construct their opinions to achieve a critical spirit.
Fourthly, in order to foster a direct relationship between students of different ages, we have included the project of "reading sponsors" that will consist of the formation of pairs of a student of a high school course with students from lower courses, that is, among others. The division of courses will be like third and fourth superiors who will be in charge of helping five years, first and second of primary. The assembly will be very important so we will make 25 minutes of daily teacher-student assembly except the days in which this activity is performed in the indicated courses.
Fifth and lastly, we will have an extensive bilingual project to promote knowledge of a second language, which will be English. She will be taught in subjects such as Natural Science, Social Science, English, Arts and Crafts. We will count with the help of native assistants to help students with their pronunciation or knowledge of the English-speaking culture.

VALUES AND CRITERIA OF OUR EDUCATIONAL PROJECT:
It is imperative that children discover questions for themselves that help them reflect and understand who they are and what their goals are. We want them to learn to answer questions such as: What footprint do I want to leave? What do I want to dedicate my talent to? Or what does the world expect of me?
Our main value is that each of our students, be educated in happiness and all our methodologies and dynamics, revolve around the students who will have voice and vote in the decisions that must be taken.
We will attach great importance to the tolerance and respect that are found in direct relation to our inclusive centre. Tolerance will work through group dynamics that will favor the acceptance and integration of all children.
TYPES OF LEADERSHIP AND DECISION-MAKING PROCESS:
Good leadership helps us and facilitates the prevailing culture in our centre, which we seek from the first moment. We must be participants in a type of leadership where we can find some awareness about the reality and the needs that the school will need (González & Quesada) We are looking for a leadership that is democratic in such a way to promote collaboration and importance Of sharing decision-making.  We are not looking for a model in which teachers are clearly superior to students. At the same time as democracy we want to try to implement a style of leadership based on "laissez faire" that will consist in giving the students enough confidence to have their own initiative without having to be the teacher directing them in the case of some Group work.
Regarding the decision making, we seek that students are fully involved in their learning and teaching so through the almost daily assemblies they will have and through the possibility of tutoring with teachers we want them to be able to make certain decisions that really influence them in the first instance. We seek that our students feel part of the community to which they will belong and can contribute  with their opinions and proposals for improvement that will cause an evolution in the system and will encourage greater participation.
FAMILY PARTICIPATION:
Our centre is committed to the creation of a community not only made up of teachers and students, parents will play a fundamental role. We believe that active participation  of our students’ parents in the school increases the improvement of the students' performance and we see that it is necessary for the family to be informed and involved in the school as a fundamental part of the life of their children. The tutors will meet with the parents quarterly and individually to inform the students' process, as well as being in contact with the digital platform. Parents as teachers will have access to this platform to communicate with each other and learn about activities, contents, notes etc. In this way we want parents to know at all times the projects we carry out in the centre and are given the opportunity to help in all of them and to participate in other projects specially designed for collaboration with their children inside the school: Workshops of reading, dramatization or handworks. In short, we want to promote the co-responsibility of the education of children shared between the role of teachers and families, to help and advice and above all to bring innovations by both parties to the educational program.
ICT:

We have designed a centre that is prepared to train our students for today's society. Our school will have digital whiteboards in the classrooms for the use of programs and multimedia supports of the contents of the curriculum. Our school will have tablets for students to use when required. In this way we approach to their way of knowing the world of technologies and increases their motivation. The curricular content will be work with different applications that will involve the enrichment in digital literacy as well as learning the content of the subjects. In addition to using technologies with students, the way we will use for communication with parents day by day will be through digital platforms.

PHISICAL SCHOOL:
The building of our school will have a rather unusual shape. The main building has the shape of the letter U of "Union". The letter U refers to our motto "We are union" in relation to the learning community that we want to train among teachers, students and parents. This building will have three floors in the first are located direction and head of studies, bathrooms for teachers, teachers’ meeting room, nursing, library, dining room and respective kitchen, psychomotricity room for pre-school students and students' bathrooms. In the upper floor are the even courses (second, fourth and sixth) in one tower that form the building and in the other the odd courses (first, third and fifth). There will be corridors connecting the two towers. On the top floor are placed the labs and the auditorium.
The pre-school area is made up of buildings. Each one of them is for an age (3 years, 4 years and 5 years) we have used the thematic of the three little pigs’ houses (straw, wood and brick respectively) as a symbol of growth and learning of the child until they start the primary education. Behind the pre-school houses is its playground.
At the front we can find the ecological garden and at the back basketball and soccer courts along with the sports-centre and the playground of the primary students.

LOS GOCHOS REVIEW Ideal School ( Marta Alonso)

Los Gochos have worked so hard and have finally made an incredible video. They have achieved their commitments in an individual way and also in common. They also showed us their motto as a sample of their union as a group. It is necessary to highlight overall the originality in the thematic of the video at the time of simulating TV news where each component of the group had a paper in relation with the school Palas Atenea that they have created.  Although they have use a bit of Spanish it was not a problem because the explanations of all the content were in English and each point was carried out by one of the components of the group. They talk about ITC, Democratic environments, emotions as a methodology and they also mentioned some quotes and interesting project that they would propose in their school as the Balloon Game that from Waldrof method. All the content was accurate and perfectly explained, there were a nice amount of information and very well explained and due to this fact also understood. The search of facts and figures was excellent and also the solutions they thought about to eradicate the restrictions the context presented them. They have mix lots of contents learnt in the three subjects at the same time it is clear they have read and informed their selves to be able to include some innovations. Something to mention due to the facilities it create for the public to follow and understand the video are the titles of the main ideas that they wrote and were shown in it. The best part that make us liked a lot was the end of the video were they sing and dance like creating a video clip. It was the funniest video seen for the moment. Good job!

SOFA SESSIONS REVIEW ideal school (By Ana Rallo)

I really liked the idea of going to an school and recording for the work, and what is better, asking a student (Hana, I don't know if it was written like this) about her opinion.

First, the idea of giving us leaflets of their school named Apollo School was really creative and new. I think we all thought about it as a really good idea that came to their minds. Making the video as a documentary and each of them being in charge of something was realy good too. They spoke about making their school since 8 until 18 because the area in which it is needs it.

They defend learning communities and inclusive education although they didn't agree with everything of these methodologies. The importance of complicity with families and coherence between them and the school was highlighted although they made a bit mess on trying to explain it, but with the questions of the teachers and their answers it was all clear.

They also spoke about the kiva project for bullying and the importance of having a program consisting on giving help to students; the help is given from other students.

Finally, they talk about constructivism and having an active methodology and the importance of teachers promoting interest and stimulation for the kids in different situations.

I personally believe that their work was really well done although it could be improved but we are not perfect. They should try on changing a bit scenes or voices or making smaller sentences because in some parts we could feel a bit bored or we could get lost because of monotony. In general lines, Congratulations because it was a hard work!

EDUCATION LEAGUE REVIEW ideal school (By Ana Rallo)

This group did a really good job. Their idea of making a classroom and the teacher (Irene) asking them about how would it be their ideal school was really creative (in my opinion). It's true that in some cases it was a bit difficult to follow the audio and that subtitles would have been better but I defend that they made a really great job!

In terms of the content, they explained everything of what was asked, I think that everyone in the group put effort on making this project. They use programs of existent schools as the one of th Ramiro Solans "entre todos"defending the learning communities and they also spoke about Kiva's project implemented in Finland for fighting against bullying.

About ICTs they talk of pictoaplicaciones, TDAH trainer and Olivia reader as examples of apps for dealing with some special needs or disabilities as dyslexia.

Great Job!

SOFA SESSIONS REVIEW Ideal School ( Marta Alonso)

Comparing this presentation with the beginning as a group they have improved in collaboration between all the members of the group and of course the implication. Everybody went to the meetings and accomplish their own role while they did their common work as well. They created Apollo School and give each group a paper of information as an advertisement of their school. It was useful also to follow more easily their presentation because it had written the different points that were shown in the video and also some extra information about their school. They talk about their philosophy of education including learning  communities, multiple intelligences, Welcome Programs, Citizenship, Creativity, Ethical and moral and constructivist methodologies. The video was an original idea where each component of the group was a person working in the school teacher, psychologist, the principal…  It creates an environment of veracity and also at the time of talking all the ideas and projects were perfectly explained although sometimes some monologues were a bit long and finally they finished being boring. It would be necessary something more dynamic and active such as the interview of the Welcome program’s student. The video was recorded in a real school so it gives seem like a really video advertisement for their school. There were some contradictions for example in the part of family participation but they knew how to solve it and explained it again when they were asked. There are components of the group that talk more than others, but finally all of them have participated answering questions.

EDUCATION LEAGUE REVIEW Ideal School ( Marta Alonso)

Education League has improved a lot from their first projects because at first they had more problems connecting as a group and work but now they seem a group that understand each other and that collaborate for their group aims. They started presenting their group plan where it was shown their personal commitments, and roles which were good distributed in relation with the amount of work for each one and the common tasks. They also shown their approximately timetable of the hours invested on the project.  They assessed themselves in a positive way due to their good job. The main thematic of the video of creating a dialogue between a teacher and her students was so great and very original. It gave to the video a funny part that made me be interest in each part due to the different voices of the component while explaining the content. Talking about the content they introduce so many ideas we saw in class as the cooperative learning and inclusive education which are the bases of the school. They also talk about working in nature and using the social constructivism as their learning theory. They also mentioned projects against bullying as the creation of a team of mediators which is a nice idea for avoiding differences between children and raise awareness about the school is part of their life and reality and not just an institution as they said. The only part that would needed a little bit of more explanation would be the leadership although it was clear they bet for a democratic system. All the information about each point is perfectly argument in a different way by the students simulating they give opinion to the teacher that asked about the ideal school. In some cases it would be necessary subtitles or something to follow in an easier way all the content mentioned in the video.

CONCEPTUAL MAP'S COMPARISON: LOS GOCHOS VS. OTHERSIDERS (Ana Rallo)

 LOS GOCHOS'S MAP

                                  OTHERSIDER'S MAP

First of all; here we've got the maps that are being compared.

On the left, we can find Los Gochos' map, where we could understand without any problem what is inclusive education. They divide inclusive Education in four different branches; cooperative learning, innovation, educational communities and classroom environment.

On the right side we can find our group’s map, where we decided to divide inclusive education into six branches; attitude, life (equals to education), cooperation, individuality, 21st century generation and the important role that students should have.

If we start up with the comparison, we could think they are really different, but if we go deep into it, we’ll discover how in relation they are, I mean, of course they are in relation because they are about the same topic. In the case of Los Gochos, they spoke about the importance of cooperative learning, that, thanks to it, we can have a better result on inclusive education. In our case, we wrote about the cooperative learning in our branch of cooperation where we divide the branch into two more branches named relationship, which means how school should get in contact with students, parents, teachers and communities; all interconnected and the other branch about teamwork where we thought about the importance of having support from your groups and obtaining different ideas from the different people existing inside your cooperative group. We also thought about the relation of cooperative learning, of course, with education and life. We connected life to education because of the importance the education has in our life as we spend many ours inside school.

They spoke about innovation where we talked about our generation, the 21st century one. The importance of rewriting the curriculum and adapting it to our nowadays society was shown in both maps. Also we could find how both groups thought about the importance of teacher’s formation and how we all should be open minded; one concept that wasn’t written down in our map and should.

When talking about the educational communities, they told us how important they feel the roles are inside and outside and they decided to give a huge space for it, something different to our case. As I have said before, about roles, we just spoke when talking about cooperation and maybe we should have thought of giving it a bigger importance.

Something I find different is about the individuality. We, Othersiders, gave a huge importance due to our group’s logo and differences. We included our logo on the map because of its meaning we explained in class on our first presentation, and we thought we couldn’t explain this in a better way than using our own logo.

Finally, I wanted to congratulate Los Gochos’ team because of the fourth branch; classroom environment where they spoke about how important is respect and some other values inside and outside the classroom. Also I wanted to say, they made a really great job because of the creativity of the map.

CONCEPTUAL MAP'S COMPARISON Los Gochos vs Othersiders (Marta Alonso)

Los Gochos’s conceptual map gathers all the information about inclusive education in four grate points which are Cooperative learning, Innovation, Classroom environment and Educational Communities. In contrast our conceptual map is divided in more branches where the main points about the same topic (inclusive education) are written.  They focused the importance in just four points and we did it in more branches dividing the main concepts for a better explanation of terms.

One of our branches was cooperation, as concepts inside it, we mixed other two:  teamwork which is the way students work in inclusive education and share their ideas and the relationship between different structures as students, parents, teachers who collaborate in the creation of the educational community which is searched in inclusive education. Los Gochos gave lot of importance to the paper of each structure inside the educational communities. In the school’s role they include the curriculum changes for students needs and we included this point inside the branch of the generation of 21st century where we related the need of including ITC in the curriculum so this is followed by the curriculum change and the teacher’s formation.  They also include inside the student’s role different capacities as active role, responsibility and autonomy. We gave more importance to the aspect of individuality understood as the authenticity of each student without ha having in mind the social, physical o ethnic differences and the contribution all them can make gathering their capacities.  They select a bit of this context about respect, integration, equity, diversity inside the great point of classroom environment and also include teamwork as our team.  We selected as a very important point the attitude that inclusive education defends for student’s life in two main points. We explained concepts as tolerance, respect, equality and the main role that the students receive because according to inclusive education everything should revolve around the student. Students are who need to solve the problems in a common way and the teacher should prepare their classes according to each student necessities.  We also gave lot of importance to the point of view that inclusive education has about what education is for children. Education is part of their life so the main objective is learning things they will need for the future in an educative environment full of real experiences such as their lives. Los gochos did not give importance to this point. In contrast we did not add deep information about family’s role in this type of education which is something really different from traditional education. It is so different because they have an active participation in the school offering their help and above all is so important the trust they give to teachers which do not exist in most of the schools. Gochos selected as an important point cooperative learning as the methodology to follow. Inside this branch the included the main tools for classes such as helping each other, dialogue, individuality  concept we gave extra importance), engagement.  Finally the see inclusive education as a mix of innovations related the adaptation to the society where teachers and students are always improving. (We covered this point inside 21st century generation).

SOFA SESSIONS REVIEW (Pablo Fuentes)

I couldn't attend to this presentation becuase I was hospitalized but my team mates can tell you what you need to know about Sofa Sessions work!

FERNWEH REVIEW (Pablo Fuentes)

I think that this group despite the problems they had at the time of meeting outside the class, worked fine and showed us their perspective of cooperative learning. The presentation was pretty good and the website they created looks cool.

Talking about the beneficts of cooperative learning is a good way to motivate the group to work as a whole.

The activity using the jigsaw method needed to be a bit more explicative because I found myself lost at some point but I think they will improve this because they will be more puzzled with the time and the works.

Also I saw a difference between the parts of the group that knew more about the topic and the ones that need to improve this aspect.

Courage guys!

EDUCATION LEAGUE REVIEW (Pablo Fuentes)

I'll start talking about origniality.

This group was by far the most original of all the presentations.
They showed us how can we use coperative learning to perform as a group and the activity they did was fantastic. Separating the class in three groups(Agile, porters and helpers) calsifing what those groups are specialized in and then grouping those mixed for a coperative work.

They definitely showed us how can coperative learning matter so hard in acrosport, and all the group performed as one highlighting the importance of trsut in your partners and the satisfaction of a well done project.

About the content of the presentation I think it was focused from a different perspective, not from the theory but from the practice.

Really good work from their part.

LOS GOCHOS REVIEW (Pablo Fuentes)

I think that Los Gochos made a really good work, but we could see in the presentation who was the head of the group by far. I think that is kind of a mistake from them because in a coperative learning all the parts of the group should use the same amount of time when they are exposing, and when I say this I don't mean that they didn't work outside the same amount of time.

The content of the presentation was very good explained despite they couldn't put in practice the technique they selected to show us how we can work as a group. But that is not their failure, I think that it's a mistake that some groups are able to do their activity and others don't, this should change in the next classes because for me, it's unfair, and it's not a fault from the group.

In terms of originality the activity was good but other groups were more original I would say.
The presentation was well organized and the parts of the group were able to reply the questions from the teacher by themselves, without needing the help of their partners because all of them knew about almost everything.

REVIEW TRAVELCHERS (Pablo Fuentes)

We could see that the group was organized, maybe kind of nervous because of the pressure of having all the class taking notes in front of them but they did good.

Because they met a lot of times it was easy to see that they were cordinated, performed as a group and they made a good use of the power point using interesting videos like "the lion king" to show us what group work is.

They overcome the pressure coming from the questions that were made by the teacher helping each other when they needed to, and the content of the presentation was very clear and organized.

For all of those reasons our group thinks they deserve and 8.5 and we hope they keep working as they did in this presentation that made us understand what cooperative learning is.

SOFA SESSIONS REVIEW (Marta Alonso)

This group gather all the information to improve given to the rest of the teams because they were the last one presenting.  Their presentation was perfectly structured and its slides’ design was unbeatable covered by pictures. A great point to stars was the index where they wrote each point of their presentation for, as they said: “Help us to follow the presentation”. The presentation was full of details which make it easy to follow and create an interest on each point. It also covered all the theory and it was well explained but it would be better to create a balance between all the components with the objective of having the same level of leadership inside the group. Although they have achieved their commitments individually, they need to improve the group communication meeting each other more times and not missing classes. They found a way to share the information and opinions if they could not meet. They used Google Docs which any group used and it is so useful to upload any kind of document and see others’. According to the theory knowledge they knew how to answer questions but in some members it would be needed a bit more of security. While talking about advantages and disadvantages of cooperative learning they did not use the perfect word to express cooperative learning’s challenges. It would be better to use for example ‘limitations’. They used jigsaw technique in their activity and for explaining in what it consisted on they played a short video where it was perfectly explained. After the video they explained the steps to follow whit the help of the instructions they write on the presentation and a very important point other group didn’t explained was the way they are going to be assessed: self-assessment and co-evaluation. The activity was related with social science for learn the provinces of Castilla-La Mancha. First expert groups were formed to worked about the same province and then they went back to the base groups to share the information in which they were experts in.

FERNWEH RE REVIEW (Marta Alonso)

Group members: Alicia, Mónica, Sergio, Laura, Celia

This team carried out one of the most original activities at the beginning which was the game with the blanket. This dynamic made us understand in an active way what was cooperative learning and how we need to work in a team. I believe that this was a perfect way of starting their presentation because it really engage the public due to the difference with others introductions.
Presentation’s design was grate and each slide had the information need. Each one of the components was able to answer questions and explain one of the parts but in some situations they need to be more accurate and also be more secure.
The most visible disadvantage that this team have is that they do not have confident between the members and need more time to create the sense of group that they need to improve on their organisation. They need also to meet each other and prepare and check together if each one has fulfilled their roles.

The presentation topics’ structuration was easy to follow and give you information enough to understand what cooperative learning is and what it includes. The activity was very well explained through the steps and instructions on the screen. Everyone could see them and they also were with different expert groups while finding the characteristics of each type of vertebrates and then in their respective base groups to explain them. The activity used the jigsaw technique which was so well explained by the team and finally they get a fantastic, easy and common activity for a usual class.

SOFA SESSIONS REVIEW (Ana Rallo)

First, they started with an index, something new compared to the rest of the presentations and it was useful for not getting lost. About the power point, they did a great job in terms of creativity because they use a book format with the background of the slides with kids playing and that was something new too.

About the theory they did it great and explain really well the activity. They use the jigsaw method and for their explanation they were using a really good video that help us for the understanding of the technique. They include what cooperative learning promotes and what must include and explain really well what is the individual accountability (evaluating contents and other people’s things).

Finally they explain some advantages and challenges about cooperative learning as for example the difficult organization of the group or the meetings. In terms of explaining the different learning methodologies they include two new ones, the reverse jigsaw and the inside-outside circle.

About their activity they did it about knowing Castilla La Mancha and they added some rules that were: keeping order, listening to the rest of the peers, respecting, word shifting, being patient with others opinion and knowledge and the need of an open mind.

They really did it good and they end up with a farewell as in a theatre play.

FERNWEH REVIEW (Ana Rallo)

To start up pointing out a really good point, I wanted to focus on the blanket definition of cooperative learning. Thanks to this, we were able to understand and interiorize about the meaning of cooperative learning and how we should work with it.

Another thing that was really good about their presentation is the presentation, the website and so on; they’ve got a really good appearance.

They talked about some benefits that cooperative learning has, as for example the increase of the academic achievement that is the final objective of everyone and the group feeling, where they explain that thanks to cooperative learning some issues as for example stress and anxiety would be reduced.

About their activity, I think it was really good although they could improve (as everyone). They use the jigsaw method and explain the steps although as we discus in class, the organization was a bit poor in terms of explaining after giving things and they should have done this before, but as I have said, we are humans and we commit mistakes.

Finally I wanted to give them some support for the fomentation of relationship, or what is the same, they might improve how they work together and how they get on with the rest in terms of the work but they are on the right way. Congrats!

LOS GOCHOS REVIEW (Marta Alonso)

Group members: Raquel, Celeste, Cristina, Miguel, Umaima

As the rest of the groups they showed us their role’s responsibilities and their common objectives and commitments. Each one knew their strengths and weaknesses and it was seen that they wanted to do a properly presentation and they seem exited. As a small defect I would say that some members had a longer intervention during the presentation but anyway each one had an active participation where it was shown that each member control the topic. One of the most notable parts was the differences between traditional learning and cooperative one. This type of comparison gathers the theoretical content of the work in a creative way different from other group’s presentation structure. The video and the motto was so original and important inside the topic. This group was so centred on trust and classroom motivation which is totally necessary in cooperative learning and team efficiency. Los Gochos created their own photos in some cases and also information as the definition of a teacher using its letters. It was one of the most completed presentations where all the effort was reflected at the time of each detail preparation and also creativity. The activity the prepared was a perfect sample of what cooperative learning consist on where they have worked natural science and use different groups distribution (base groups, expert groups) depending the part of the activity. Objectives and instructions were shown on the screen although they were also explained and this is a positive point because it let students reading them and understanding in a clearer way. All the group made an active paper not only preparing the presentation also all the handwork that their activity required although finally we didn’t have time to use it. This group made a great different from others due to the importance given to evaluation of the activity.

EDUCATION LEAGUE REVIEW (Marta Alonso)

Group members: Jorge, Leyre, Irene, Nuria, Jose

It was shown that the group is confident and each one has each role perfectly performed. They contributed to the creation of one of the most creative presentation due to the costumes they wore representing that each one was a superhero according to their group name. Although some of the components were shy they have been able to overcome it and it has made the presentation a great achievement.  The content that was shown was related in a short way which makes the theoretical part enjoyable. There was a bit lack of depth on the content but their activity ACROSPORT was the most creative one.  Their explanations where so clear although it would be easier to write them on the presentation. Each part of the activity was perfectly prepared from the initial test used to know who was a portor, agile and helper to the role explanation of each one. All members of the group knew what techniques were needed to know before starting the construction of figures.  I would highlight the different group’s distribution they thought about. First expert teams which were necessary to give them clues for a safety figure’s construction and then base teams that combined agiles, portors and helpers.  This activity made me realised that Acrosport needs cooperation and although I worked Acrosport in school during lots of years I have never see this activity from the point of view I can see it after working about this methodology.

TRAVELCHERS REVIEW (Marta Alonso)

Group members: Tania, M Jose, Rania, Javi, Vanesa

Travelchers seemed like a connected group although it is just formed but they have achieved each one’s commitments and overcoat their roles. It is clear that each component have their strong points which make the group efficient.  They have worked together in each part of the project as they showed on their planning.  One of the strength of their presentation is their explanations of theory that were so clear and at the same time using technique words and their own expressions. There was not much information about each part of the content that makes the presentation motivational and dynamic and it helps acquiring the knowledge. The most distinctive and innovative part of the presentation is the introduction of different apps which can help teachers with group formation in a randomly and heterogeneous way such as Wiggo, Adittio and more. Creativity is shown with the Lion King Musical which is an example of what cooperative learning is in a daily activity that everybody knows. It also transmits why it is so important in each aspect of our lives knowing how to work in teams. Their activity of Legoland has a great implication of their components in thinking about the figures to create and connect the subject and this methodology. As a weakness it could be mention the lack of concrete explications while the activity was been explained and the chaos that was formed in the distribution of the Lego pieces and the construction of the figures where everyone was speaking. It would be a great idea that each one of the components were controlling a different group. This way they would have seen who could or not create the figure and give them specific and clearer explanations.

EDUCATION LEAGUE REVIEW (Ana Rallo)

Really good job. They started with some customs on with a background of superheroes and some music of it, they present through a power point where we could find a big amount of colors and different shapes with some sounds for getting us focused on the presentation.

This group formed by, Irene, Jorge, José, Leyre and Nuria has done a good job not just with their costumes as if they were going to a carnival party but also because of their activity, an activity that most of us have done in physical education and that probably, never felt like it was as important and cooperative as it is: ACORSPORT.

They had really good ideas about cooperative learning, they said how this kind of methodology improves students’ satisfaction, when someone knows that he/she has made a good job they would feel good and motivated to continue and improve little by little and step by step.

Also, they had in consideration the importance of all the members taking part on the activity. Everyone is different and gives their small piece of sand for constructing, together, a big mountain or even a castle. They gave a huge importance to this sentence: ‘ALL OF US ARE IMPORTANT’.

About the content they interconnect really well everything without going forward and backwards without order.

As I said before, they did Acrosport activity and explain step by step what we had to do:
  • First we were going to work in expert teams and there were three, the porters, helpers and agile ones
  • Then, they provide us information about how we had to work and we shared with our expert teams our knowledge in this area and how we should do it.
  • After that, we arrange into base teams were we have members of the three kinds.
  • Finally, with cooperation we made figures.

LOS GOCHOS REVIEW (Ana Rallo)

Strong start! Being sincere I think that the beginning of a presentation means a lot of how is it going to be, this doesn’t mean that all the presentation would be as exhaustive as it was their motto but, having in mind their up and down points, we should have noticed their huge amount of work and sacrifice with the teammates.

Talking about the contents, I personally think that this group has been really able to fulfill all our expectations about rewriting the theoretical part of the work, I mean the definitions and main objectives, and apart from that their ability to make some acronyms and make us be interested on the presentation.

To be more critic, and not to criticize, I think that they had a really good start as I have said before, but sometimes they reduce their ability to outstand some parts of the job, what is the same, in my opinion they should work on don’t getting down as the time goes by.

In terms of the activity, I think their proposal was really well done. I strongly believe that some other presentations might have been more original but the creativity that these activity has had is really huge.

If I think about what I have learned with this presentation is about the activity they did with the example of ‘how our lungs function?’ and about theoretical approaches. They made a comparison between traditional and cooperative learning, something innovational and they search for a video from where they invented their motto, for a good and positive environment of work and respect of everyone.

Finally, they mention a really important thing, the Trust all of us should have on our teams for a good presentation and environment while working.

TRAVELCHERS REVIEW (Ana Rallo)

In my opinion the group called “Travelchers” was really well prepared for the presentation, as all of us should be. At first, they could seem a bit nervous because of being the first group making the presentation but immediately thy transform and started to feel comfortable.

They had a really good opening with “the Lion King” video, where they explain the importance of cooperative learning in a different and innovational way.

About the content of the presentation, as they had a lot of rapport due to the amount of hours of group work, they made it almost perfectly. Some mistakes were the dysfluency in some cases or the need of help, although the need of help is really good for the group, as they learn to support other components’ ideas with their ones and they could facilitate some ideas, the other peer didn’t thought about.

Having all these in mind, I think that for being the first group and because of their knowledge and understanding of the topic, they deserve at least an 8,5.
